ENOTA

Appalachian
Trail

North Georgia Mountains between Helen, Hiawassee, Blairsville

Testimonial from our Guests:

Planning our A/T thru hike I chose Enota Mountain Retreat as a stop to pick up a mail drop and to have a bed, shower, and laundry day.  Due to very high winds we were shuttled ahead to Enota to wait out the blustery weather.

We picked up our mail drop, stayed in a very nice cabin with hot shower and comfortable bed, and did some laundry.

The people at the lodge are very accommodating and friendly.  They made us feel at home.  One can not predict everything along the way like the weather or the miles.  We were glad that Enota Mountain Retreat was part of our trip.

Enota is located 1.5 miles off the Appalachian Trail from Clays Gap.  Clays Gap is the first clearing with a fire ring 1.25 miles from the Chattahoochee Gap.  Go to the edge of Clays Gap and there is a small trail leading down the mountain ridge.  Follow this trail to Joel's Creek and the stream flows right into the old Camp Pioneer property which is now Enota.

We are centrally located in between Helen, Hiawassee,  and Blairsville.  Our closest neighbor is a bit over 3 miles away, and is Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia.  We have tent sites, cabins, and bunk housing. So if your a "Thru Hiker", or just a day hiker, we're ready for you.

You can reach the Appalachian Trail from our property using one of the old logging trails.  We have laundry facilities and a store, modem friendly, mail drop service, and you can  send packages ahead.  With advanced notice we can  even provide shuttle service.

You are  sure to enjoy one or more of our 4 waterfalls, and 5 streams as you walk about the property.

Join us for a Fresh Trout  Dinner, from our catch and keep Trout Pond
